- life:) Provides Special Number for People with Hearing, Speech Difficulties

Mobile services operator life:) has created a new number - 10003 - for people with hearing impairments which allows them to send an SMS when they need urgent medical care. The project has been implemented together with the Ukrainian Hearing Impaired People’s Association and the Operating Support Center of the Emergency Medical Services in Kyiv. In Ukraine more than 300,000 people with hearing and speech difficulties need access to emergency services, ambulances and rescue services, and thanks to this joint project, which has enabled a special number for such people, all life:) subscribers currently unable to call for help using conventional numbers can now send an SMS to 10003. Furthermore, any such SMSs will be forwarded to the Operating Support Centre of the city’s EMS. This special number from life:) for hearing- and speech-impaired persons is another step taken to enhance the living standards and equal opportunities of all citizens.
