European Capital of Culture Tallinn Will Host Choirs from the Japanese Catastrophe Area
From September 21-25 five children and youth choirs from Japan will visit the European Capital of Culture Tallinn. The choirs come from the city of Sendai, from the area, which was damaged the most in the earthquake and tsunami in spring. The choirs are accompanied by the delegation of cultural benefactors, who in addition to meeting the Culture Capital team, will also meet with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications and Tallinn City Government.
Leaders of European Capitals of Culture meet in Tallinn
At the invitation of Tallinn 2011 the representatives of 16 European Capitals of Culture visit Tallinn from 22 – 24 September. In addition to a two day seminar they will check out the programme of Tallinn 2011 and attend the opening of LIFT11’s last project „A Path in the Forest“.
The results of the project “Cities for All – Tallinn for All” are presented as a part of Design Night festival
As a part of Design Night festival, the results of the project “Cities for All – Tallinn for All” were presented on September 20 and the works were evaluated by a jury.
The ideas were evaluated by an international jury who selected the winner. The first and the second prize were divided between the Tallinn public transportation project and Gulliver Map. The third prize was given to the project of visual aids for the blind.
"Detour 2011" will premiere in Tallinn on 29 September
A major joint project of two European Capitals of Culture Tallinn and Turku will come to its last stage with the first screening of the documentary "Detour" in Port of Tallinn A-Terminal on 29th of September at 19.30.
Sacred Voices II – Dhafer Youssef & Vox Clamantis
The Fourth IMC World Music Forum will be opened in Tallinn with a concert by Dhafer Youssef and Vox Clamantis in ST John’s Church on 26th of September.
Composer in residence in Kesklinn: Erkki-Sven Tüür
Erkki-Sven Tüür is residing in central Tallinn in September. Erkki-Sven Tüür’s concert where the long term interest and influence of old music is being marked by the performance of Hortus Musicus will take place on 27 September at 19.00 in Rotermann Salt Store - Estonian Architecture Museum.
“Club 2011: CitySonic”, a festival of alternative live music in Tallinn on October 8th, 2011
CitySonic is a one-night-two-stages club-festival taking place in old town’s most popular music venue - Von Krahl (Rataskaevu St 10) on Saturday, October 8th 2011. The mini-festival aims to assemble into one night a top selection of bands representing Estonia’s alternative music in a wide scope of genres and styles.
Gateways will end with a finissage and concert
The “gateways” exhibition marks its finissage with two concerts. On 23 and 24 September 2011, Hans W. Koch, Antoine Schmitt and Jean-Jaques Birgé perform in the auditorium of the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn.

Sebastian Nübling & Simon Stephens – ‘Three Kingdoms’

‘Credo’ – 18th International Orthodox Music Festival: Mystery of the Hail Mary
