MOVEMENT FOR FAIR GEORGIA POINTS AT INCREASED EXPENSES OF THE STATE ON ARMAMENT

One of the leaders of Movement of Fair Georgia, Shota Gvenetadze, says that special armament of at least 600-700 million lari was acquired by the state current year for the Interior Ministry and force structures. While money should be invested in economy, the authorities are engaged in acquisition of armament and special technology for the Interior Ministry, announced Gvenetadze at today’s briefing.

VAKHTANG RCHEULISHVILI CALLS ALL POLITICAL FORCES TO BE CAUTIOUS DURING THE EVENTS OF APRIL 9

Head of Georgian Economic Forum, Vakhtang Rcheulishvili, in the name of the business circles, addressed all the political forces with a special announcement. He called them to be cautious during the events of April 9.

LEVAN GOTUA IS APPOINTED THE HEAD OF FINANCIAL SUPERVISION AGENCY

Financial Supervision Agency announces that Levan Gotua was appointed the head of the Agency these days. To remind, his predecessor – Giorgi Kadagidze was appointed the President of the National Bank of Georgia.

TAXES TO GDP RATIO MADE UP 23.8% IN 2008

According to the Georgian budget-2008 implementation report, share of taxes in budget incomes made up 82.3%, while towards GDP – 23.8%. 4.5 billion lari was mobilized as taxes, which makes up 100% of the forecast.

747.6M LARI WAS SPENT ON DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY AND AMMUNITION IN 2008

According to the Georgian budget-2008 implementation report, 747.6 million lari was spent for defense technology and ammunition. The rest equipment and service cost 257.7 million lari, exploitation of transport and technology and expenses on maintenance – 138.4 million lari.

GEORGIAN GREENS WERE MAINLY EXPORTED TO UKRAINE, AZERBAIJAN, LATVIA AND MOLDOVA IN 2008

Georgian Statistics Department reports that greens of $1.03 million were exported from Georgia in 2008, which made up 2,331 t. Ukraine accounted for 69% of export, i.e. $715,400 (2,079 t).

SIX COMPANIES ARE INTERESTED WITH HOLDING OF THE IMMOVABLE STATE PROPERTY AUDIT IN TBILISI AND REGIONS

As Georgian Economic Development Ministry told Sarke, 6 companies are interested with holding of the immovable state property audit in Tbilisi and the regions. Tender applications were opened these days.

NBG ANNOUNCED THE REPEATED TENDER ON STAFF INSURANCE

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) told Sarke that tender on NBG’s staff health and life insurance was announced failed. The reason of it was named the cost of insurance packs.

FIVE COMPANIES ARE INTERESTED WITH PROVISION OF HEALTH INSURANCE SERVICE TO LLC ENGURHES STAFF

Five companies are interested with provision of individual health insurance service to LLC EngurHES (Enguri hydroelectric station) staff, told Sarke the LLC. Tender envelopes were opened these days.

OIL AND GAS NATIONAL AGENCY HOLDS NEGOTIATIONS WITH ANADARKO

Giorgi Tatishvili, acting head of Georgian Oil and Gas National Agency, announces that American company Anadarko finished the first phase of research works. Negotiations are held at this stage “on agreement of the following steps”, he noted.

BLITZ-SURVEY: BUSINESS-LUNCH SERVICE IN GEORGIA

The next blitz-survey held by Sarke is dedicated to development of business-lunch culture in Georgia. It turned out that in the chain of the surveyed restaurants, the mentioned service is manly used by foreigners.

ONLY ONE COMPANY IS INTERESTED WITH ACQUISITION OF RAILS OF GEORGIAN RAILWAY

LLC Georgian Railway told Sarke that only one company became interested with acquisition of rails – LLC Inzhtechservice. Envelops with tender applications were opened these days.

SIX COMPANIES BECAME INTERESTED WITH REHABILITATION OF WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM IN ADIGENI

Gamgeoba of Adigeni municipality told Sarke that six companies became interested with rehabilitation of water supply system. Tender included two lots and was held these days.

GZAMSHENI-2005 TO REHABILITATE INTERNAL ROADS IN GURJAANI

As Gurjaani municipality told Sarke, LLC Gzamsheni-2005, which became the winner of the tender, will implement rehabilitation of the internal roads at the territory of the municipality. To remind, the mentioned company was rivaled by LLC Modern and LLC Balavani.
