GERMANY ALLOTTED 200,000 EUR FOR MINE CLEARING IN GEORGIA
German embassy informs that German Foreign Affairs Ministry allotted 200,000 EUR for humanitarian mine clearing works in Georgia. According to the embassy, 60 detectors and 5 ambulance cars were provided through the mentioned sum to HALO Trust.
TI GEORGIA: BRUSSELS DONORS’ CONFERENCE LACKS OF TRANSPARENCY
Donors’ Conference on allotment of financial aid to Georgia, held today in Brussels, suffers lack of transparency and preliminary local consultations, Georgian branch of Transparency International, TI Georgia, says.
Despite repeated calls of Georgian non-governmental organizations on making priorities’ setting transparent, civic organizations and the Georgian Parliament were not allowed to take part in working out of Joint Needs Assessment (JNA).

EIB CONFIRMED READINESS TO ISSUE LOANS TO GEORGIA
European Investment Bank (EIB) informs that in the framework of donors’ conference, held today in Brussels, it has reaffirmed intention to participate in co-financing Georgia’s significant investment needs in order to both repair the damage directly caused by the recent war and stimulate economic activities.
Namely, EIB is ready to issue more than 200 million EUR in 2009-2010 for infrastructural projects’ implementation in Georgia.
THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL TEA FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN TBILISI BY THE END OF OCTOBER
Tbilisi will host first international tea festival on October 25. As organizer of the event, executive director of Georgian Tea Producers’ Association Tengiz Svanidze told Sarke, nearly 20 companies from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey will take part in the festival.
SHORE PROTECTION WORKS ON THE RIVER MTKVARI ARE FINISHED IN GARDABANI
Shore protection works on the river Mtkvari are finished in Gardabani. These works, which lasted two months, cost the budget 900,000 lari, announced today Georgian Environment Protection and Natural Resources Minister Irakli Gvaladze after visiting of the works.

EBRD TO ISSUE A CREDIT TO LLC GEOSTEEL TO BUILD AND LAUNCH A STEEL MILL
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced that it will issue $28 million credit line to LLC GeoSteel to build and launch a steel mill in Georgia.
Out of total funding, $14 million will be allotted by EBRD itself, while the rest $14 million will be a syndicated credit issued along with Indian State Bank.
MAYONNAISE PRODUCER LLC BEDIA WILL PRODUCE TOMATO SAUCE
As Zurab Papava, director of mayonnaise producer LLC Bedia told Sarke, the company starts production of tomato dressing next week. Tomato sauce will be packed in foil-coated bags and will be sold on the local market (price – 0.80 lari), Papava announces.
LLC NARINJI PLANS TO LAUNCH CONCENTRATES AND JUICES ENTERPRISE FROM NOVEMBER
LLC Narinji plans to launch concentrates and juices processing factory in November. As Merab Turmanidze, company’s commercial director, told Sarke, the factory, which construction started in 2006, cost company 1 million lari.
PROPERTY OF GEORGIAN POST BANK WAS NOT SOLD AGAIN
Auction on JSC Georgian Post Bank failed today, because of lack of applicants.
As liquidation commission of the bank told Sarke, the property will be passed again in constant selling regime; however, its price will not be reduced.
ANIMAL FARM WAS OPENED IN AJARA IN TERMS OF “CHEAP LOAN” PROGRAM
According to Ajara government, animal farm was opened yesterday in Goginauri village of Shuakhevi district in terms of “Cheap Loan” program. Archil Gogitidze, owner of LLC Ango, built the farm through lax credit of 170,000 lari, received from the state.
