THE GOVERNMENT WILL SPEND 170M LARI ON PROVISION OF NECESSARY FACILITIES FOR SUFFERED DURING THE RUSSIAN AGGRESSION

Minister for Refugees Issues and Settlement Koba Subeliani announced today before consideration of course of implementation of the government’s 18-month action plan that the state will spend 170 million lari in order to provide living conditions for population, who suffered during the Russian aggression. The matter concerns 7,000 families, ousted from zone of Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

GOVERNMENT PAID COST OF ELECTRIC ENERGY, CONSUMED BY THE SUFFERED POPULATION

Deputy Energy Minister Irma Enukidze said during consideration of course of implementation of the government’s 18-month action plan that the state has already paid the cost of electric energy, consumed in August-September by the population of Gori, Kareli and Akhalgori districts, which suffered during the Russian aggression.

In particular, according to the Finance Ministry, additional 820,000 lari was allotted to the Education and Science Ministry.

TURANALEM IS NOT GOING TO INCREASE ITS SHARE IN BTA BANK UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR

As BTA Bank told Sarke, Kazakh bank TuranAlem refused to increase its 49% share in BTA Bank until the end of the current year. The Georgian bank said that reason is global financial crisis as well as the recent events in Georgia.

UNITED TELECOM TO UPGRADE INFRASTRUCTURE IN TSKNETI

JSC United Telecom of Georgia announced today about start of infrastructure renewal in Tskneti (holiday village near Tbilisi). Namely, old telephone station will be replaced by a digital one.

ELIT ELECTRONICS OPENED ONE MORE SHOP

Elit Electronics (household appliances’ retail network) opened a new shop in Martvili (Samegrelo region) today. The new shop, where 10 local residents will be employed, has selling space of 300 square m.

PSP FINISHED LAB’S RE-EQUIPMENT IN GMP

Drug company PSP announced about completion of the laboratory re-equipment in its pharmaceutical enterprise GMP, which lasted for 4 months. The company notes that this laboratory is the only of its kind in the whole Caucasus region.
