GEORGIA WILL GET $1B IN 2008 IN TERMS OF DONORS’ AID PROGRAM

Finance Minister Nika Gilauri announces that Georgia has already received $602 million from different financial institutions in terms of the decision of donors’ conference (October 2008, Brussels).

The governemnt will get $332 million in the nearest days, told Gilauri the journalists today after the meeting of donors coordination board held in the State Office.

EUROPEAN COMMISSION ALLOTTED ADDITIONAL 2M EUR HUMANITARIAN AID TO GEORGIA

Representation of European Commission in Georgia informs that European Commission allotted additional 2 million EUR humanitarian aid to Georgia.

The aid will be envisaged to help the displaced from the South Ossetia (145,000 refugees), Abkhazia and Gali district, as well as to help socially deprived.

VOLUME OF CURRENCY RESERVES IS NEARLY EQUAL TO THE LEVEL OF THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reports, that by the state of November 30, 2008, volume of international currency reserves made up $1.3 billion.

This rate increased by 5.4% in a year and is less by 0.5% compared with the beginning of 2008. It is less by 1.1% compared with the same period of 2007.

PREMIUM ATTRACTED IN THE INSURANCE FIELD INCREASED 2.5 TIMES

Insurance Supervision Department of Georgia Financial Supervision Agency reports that, by the state of 9 months of 2008, total volume of premiums attracted by insurance companies operating in Georgia made up 214.95 million lari, which is 2.5 times more compared with the same period of 2007.

Out of which, reinsurer accounts for 18.4%, i.e. 39.6 million lari of the attracted premium, exceeding previous year’s same period by 83.7%.

ACCORDING TO THE ATTRACTED PREMIUM, ALDAGI BCI AGAIN LEADS, WHILE GPIH AND IMEDI-L CHANGED POSITIONS

Insurance Supervision Department of Georgian Financial Supervision Agency reports that by the state of the 3rd quarter of 2008, Aldagi BCI holds the first position according to the attracted premium.

The company accounts for 23.3% of total attracted premium, i.e. 50.02 million lari, which is more by 60.2% compared with the same period of 2007.

IRAO OFFERS DISCOUNT CARDS WHILE PROPERTY INSURANCE

Insurance company Irao offers 5% discount cards in case of property insurance.

Getting of the discount will be possible in shop-salons, where things necessary for arrangement of the flat are sold.

MIDDLE SIZED ENTERPRISES TURNOVER AND PRODUCTION ISSUING REDUCED DURING THE LAST THREE MONTHS

As Georgian Statistics Department reports, total turnover of middle sized enterprises made up 386.6 million lari (7.9% of business sector’s total turnover), which is less by 5% compared with the 2nd quarter. This rate is reduced by 15% compared with previous year’s same period.

In total turnover of middle-sized enterprises, trade and repairs of automobiles, household appliances and articles of personal consumption accounted for major share – 37.9%. It is followed by processing industry (15.7%), transport and communication (15.1%), construction (12.1%), operations with realty, lease and service to clients (7.3%).

LLC AJARA ELETROKAVSHIRI PAID FINES

LLC Ajara Elektrokavshiri paid 5,000-lari fine imposed by Georgian Communications Commission.

The company was imposed the fines in September because of illegal using of certain frequencies.

NIKORA PLANS TOTAL LAUNCHING OF HACCP SYSTEM FROM JANUARY 2009

JSC Nikora plans total launching of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system from January 2009, told Sarke head of company’s PR service Mako Jaoshvili.

In connection with passing to HACCP system, work in certain direction has already started, Jaoshvili noted. Namely, trainings and other arrangements are held for the staff. The company does not name expenses connected with launching of the system.

AVERSI ENTERPRISE TO WORK ACCORDING TO GMP AND FDA STANDARDS

Aversi-Rational (enterprise of the pharmaceutical company Aversi) was passed an international certificate today.

This certificate points that the production corresponds to the European Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and American FDA standards, which will be the first in the pharmaceutical field in Georgia, the company announces.

GEORGIAN RAILWAY ANNOUNCED TENDER ON SANITARY AND PROPHYLACTIC SERVICE OF CARRIAGES, STATIONS AND OTHER AREAS

LLC Georgian Railway announced today an international tender on provision of sanitary and prophylactic service of carriages, stations and other areas. The tender includes three lots.

The service envisages: I lot – cleaning of carriages and stations, II lot – disinfection of carriages and stations, III lot – disinfection of the soft inventory of carriages (pillows, mattress).

ONE SHIP IS SOLD OUT THREE AUCTIONED ONES

Finance Agency of Georgian Finance Ministry informs that one ship out of three ones (seiners and dry cargo ship) was sold at yesterday’s auction (the third one) at a reduced price.

As the Agency told Sarke, Ilia Chavchavadze Pedagogic University acquired the seiner Grot at 99,000 lari (with 45% reduction). Basisbank also took part in the auction.

AUCTION ON LONG-TERM FORESTRY LICENSES WAS NOT HELD TODAY

By the decision of the newly appointed Economic Development Minister Lasha Zhvania, auction on issuing of long-term forestry licenses was not held today.

As the Minister explains, the reason of cancelling the auction is the uncertain situation. “I must study the issue of leasing large territories of forests in details. First, I should find out whether it is a right economic policy”, Zhvania announced.

THREE NON-LIVING AREAS ARE SOLD IN BATUMI

Ajara Finance and Economy Ministry announced auction on three non-living areas located in Batumi (Gamsakhurdia Str. 21-23). Total starting price makes up 670,000 lari.

Total area makes up 200.56 square m.
