Fondul Proprietatea postponed finalization of 2007 financial statementsFondul Proprietatea representatives declared that they have delayed delivering the financial statements to the fiscal authorities due to the losses incurred in 2007 from new provisions being set up. The listing on the stock exchange requires two historic years with reported profits, thus the decision of the fund officials to postpone the finalization of the financial statements. The losses were generated by provisions set up to account for the reduction of its stakes in the state companies Nuclearelectrica and Hidroelectrica. In the case of Nuclearelectrica, its participation has decreased to 9%, from 20%, as two share capital increases have taken place and the new shares were issued only for the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The fund has agreed yesterday with the state to receive an additional participation of 7.3% in Nuclearelectrica, to compensate for the decrease in its stake, which will reduce the total provision of RON 380 mn with 70% and help the fund turn in black the 2007 result. Another participation that triggered losses was Hidroelectrica, which revalued its fixed assets and had to reduce its share capital by some RON 1.5 bn. The fund hopes to finalize the 2007 financial statements by the end of June.
