- 04.12.2009 PD and PSD signed a merger memorandum
The leader of the Democrat Party of Moldova (PD), Marian Lupu, and the chairman of the National Board of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), Iurie Bolboceanu, have signed a merger memorandum on December 4.
The PSD leader, Dumitru Braghis, was not present at the conference where the memorandum was signed, stating that he has another vision about the party future. Bolboceanu said that the decision on signing of a merger memorandum was taken by the members of the PSD National Board, the proposal was passed by 7 members, and five were against. According to Marian Lupu, the merger will be completed after the decision will be discussed at the congresses of the two parties, where also it will be decided what will be the party name and logo and its leadership.

Over 161 persons called the “green line” of the Center for Human Rights, in November, in order to refer various violations of human rights.
According to the Center for Human Rights, many of the complaints registered to the “green line”, in November, were related with the violation of the right to work, of which unfounded dismissal, non-conclusion of individual labor contracts with employees, non-payment of wages on time and wrong index of pensions.

Only one candidate registered for the repeated election planned for December 7.
“Marian Lupu, PDM leader, who is also the candidate of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI), was the only candidate to have submitted the documents for the registration with the Special Commission for President Election”, specified Ion Plesca, chair of this commission, for BASA-press.

Moldovan football champoion Sheriff Tiraspol missed an incredible victory in the match with the Romanian football team Steaua Bucucuresti. The match ended in a tie, 1-1, on Wednesday night on the Sheriff stadium. The equal match put out the Gigi Becali’s team from competition.
Leonid Kuciuk’s players have closed the game well and did not give space to the Mihai Stoichita’s stars, who brought the best player such as Cristian Tanase, Bogdan Stancu, Toja or Kapetanos, the last entered after the break. - 02.12.2009 Expired beer worth 70 thousand lei found by CCECC in a deposit of Chisinau
About 4000 bottles of beer of doubtful quality, dangerous for health, produced in Ukraine was found by officers of the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCECC) in a deposit, which belongs to the domestic company SRL “SB TRADE”.
According to CCECC, the labels of beer in bottles of 1.5 and 2 liters of marks “Rogani”, “Iantari” and “Cernigivsche” were changes and new term of validity was printed on them.

Moldovan physicians registered one more death caused by A(H1N1) flu during the last 24 hours. The number infected people achieved figure 1984, including 13 deaths.
Asked by BASA-press, Vasile Sohotchi, vice-director of the National Scientific-Practical Center of Preventive Medicine (CNSPM), specified that the victim is a woman of 50 years old of Chisinau municipality.

The price of a square meter of apartment in Chisinau amounted to 662 euro in November, almost 20 euro less (approx. 3%) against the one in October, stated sources from Lara Real Estate Exchange for BASA-press.
At the same time, in November 2009, the apartments cheapened by 25.2% (1 m – by 224 euro), against November 2008, when 1 m2 could be bought for 886 euro.

Other 62 A(H1N1) flu cases were registered by Moldovan physicians in the last 24 hours. The number of cases confirmed in the National Laboratory achieved figure 1922, including 12 deaths.
According to the National Scientific-Practical Center of Preventive Medicine (CNSPM), until 01 December 2009, 3923 cases suspected of pandemic flu were reported in the country.

Christmas tree will be installed in the Square of the Great National Meeting today, by the end of the day, and tomorrow it will be officially inaugurated, stated for BASA-press city-hall sources.
According to Mariana Vasilachi of Public Relations Department of the city-hall, the three was brought from Oclanda village, Soroca district, has a height of nearly 20 meters and will be escorted by police crews on its way to Chisinau.

Corneliu Mihalache, one member of the Audiovisual Coordinating Council (ACC), will attack in court the institution he works on the ground that it complied with the illegal decision to announce a new competition for filling in vacancies of the Observers Council of IPNA “Teleradio Moldova“(TRM).
Mihalache specified for BASA-press that the competition was announced illegally by ACC basing on a decision of the head of Parliamentary Commission for Culture, Education, Science, Youth, Sport and Media, vice-president of Liberal Party (PL), Corina Fusu.
- 27.11.2009 Moldovan insurance market by about 6% down after third quarter
The insurance market (in terms of insurance money received) amount to 595.5 mln lei (51.76 mln USD) after the third quarter of this year, 6% under the level registered in the similar period of 2008 (633.05 mln lei), show data of the National Commission for Financial Markets (NCFM).
According to a NCFM report, three companies (Moldasig, Grawe and ASITO) account for 65% of the market. Moldasig’s market share increased by 2.62 percentage points (29.7%), ASITO’s increased by 0.11 percentage points (22.8%), while the value of the insurances subscribed by ASITO in nine months reduced by 2.79 percentage points to 9.9% compared with January-September 2008.

Moldovan International Grandmaster, Viorel Bologan, obtained a splendid qualification for the third round of the World Chess Cup, held in Khanty-Mansiisk, Russia.
Bologan defeated in the additional matches Bulgarian player Ivan Ceparinov. The score after the first two classic chess games was equal, 1-1, and under FIDE Regulation, the winner should be decided in a tie-break. The first two additional matches played Thursday ended in a draw and thus the score was 2-2. Bologan won both games with an overall score 4 -2.

The photography exhibition "Photovoice ”Peste bariere”" made by young people with disabilities was launched in the hall of Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family on November 26.
According to organizers, the aim of the exhibition is to offer young people with disabilities the possibility to express their opinion through photography, due to their daily challenges and encountered problems.

Almost half of the Moldovan young people (47.9%) employed in 2008 worked in agriculture, show data of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
According to the cited source, a significant number of young people worked in trade and hotel activities (14.4%) and industry (13.9%) in 2008.

The Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Chisinau was equipped with a computerized tomography, purchased with the support of a mobile telephone company.
According to the Ministry of Health, currently, the tomography is the most performant of Moldova and South-Eastern Europe.
According to the cited source, using this device will enhance the access of patients who need diagnosis in neurology and neurosurgery as: brain and marrow scan of three-dimensional reconstruction, angiography of the brain and spinal cord vessels, emergency selective thrombolysis in patients with stroke.
The device will also allow neuronavigation and post-operative monitoring of patients of the institute.
Currently, an expert of the company which produces medical equipment is in Moldova and carries out a series of trainings in order to familiarize the personnel of the Neuroimaging Center of the institute with the new tomography.

The economic publications Business Expert and ECOnomist announce their fusion by the end of 2009 and launch of a new brand on the Moldovan media market.
According to editor-in-chief of the press group Economist Business Expert, Vlad Bercu, the fusion seeks to achieve a new level of quality in economic journalism. “A professional team will be built to meet the high expectations on the economic segment of the media market”, he stated.

At the end of this week Parliament is to decide the date of the repeat presidential election. “A day from December 7 to 10 could be elected, PD leader, Marian Lupu, said in a press conference, who is the only candidate registered for the presidential election.
According to Lupu, the legislature is to decide at the plenary sitting the date of the repeated presidential election. Lupu added that in this week, the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) will put forward to the PCRM a set of proposals for electing the head of state.

Soldiers of “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade will be able to go every Sunday to the church opened on November 23 on the territory of military unit, sources from the Ministry of Defense said.
According to the same source, the church is named after “Holy Martyr Victor” and was blessed in a religious service by a synod of military priests who blessed the sacred place. The church is part of Orthodox Educational Complex that includes a room for televised lessons of catechesis, a hall for church clergy, a library and a lavatory. Church priest, Gheorghe Gavrilita, said that the church will have a special activity programme, adjusted to the daily schedule of soldiers. Every Tuesday, soldiers will be able to attend televised lessons of catechesis and on Sunday, will attend religious services according to church canons.
- 23.11.2009 As many as 250 cases of A (H1N1) flu recorded in weekend
National Laboratory confirmed 250 new cases of pandemic flu in weekend. The number of influenza patients reached 1 410.
According to the National Center for Preventive Medicine, 2 819 suspected cases of A (H1N1) flu were reported in Moldova to date. The physicians examine 21 samples taken from patients with symptoms of influenza.

The PCRM MP, Igor Dodon, former Minister of Economy and Trade, is heading the parliament delegation to the 34-th plenary sitting of the general assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) held in Moscow on November 23 - 25.
The main topics of the reunion are the energy security and development of international transport corridors.
