Ministero degli Esteri: tender for Improvement of Tirana Water Supply

Procurement Tender No.: Comp. III-Sub 2/02/08

1. The Government of Albania has received a soft loan from the Italian Government toward the cost of the: “Tirana Water and Sewerage System Rehabilitation”, and intends to apply part of this soft loan to cover the costs of the Contract for “Improvement of Tirana Water Supply”, up to a maximum amount of € 4,629,000.

2. The works concern:

• Rehabilitation of hydraulic infrastructures near Tirana City;

• Construction/rehabilitation of river training works on river bed near Tirana City;

• Installation of two pipelines in Tirana City;

• Supply of hydraulic equipments;

• Technical assistance to the Tirana Water Provider.

3. The award criteria is the lowest evaluated bid within a maximum amount of € 4,629,000.

4. The above Ministry now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified Italian Companies only, or eligible and qualified Italian companies’ associations, having the following minimum requirements:

• Total turnover for the last 3 (three) years not less than € 9,200,000 (nine million and two hundred thousand Euro);

• Certificate ISO 9001 or 9002;

• Liquid assets/credit facilities net of contractual commitments, of not less than € 1,300,000;

• Experience in not less than two contracts of similar nature and complexity, in the last five years;

• Sound litigation history, over the last five years.

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written Application to the address below and upon cash payment of a non refundable fee of € 300.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12 a.m. on 19.11.2008 (52nd day after the publication of this Invitation for Bids).

7. The invitation to tender was published in the Official Gazette of Italian Republic G.U.R.I. - of 29.9.2008 n. 113 - V Serie speciale - Contratti pubblici.

8. The pre-bid meeting and the site visit will take place 14 days after the publication of the tender notice.
