A Kazakhstan-Qatar business forum took place in Doha, Qatar on October 3.
The event brought together over 150 representatives from government entities and the private sectors of both countries, including Qatar’s largest companies — QatarGas, QatarEnergy, Qatar Investment Authority, Hassad Food, and others. The forum participants discussed the prospects for implementing investment projects and developing economic relations.
Azamat Kozhanov, Managing Director of KAZAKH INVEST national company, spoke about the investment climate in Kazakhstan, state support measures, and invited representatives of the Qatari business community to implement projects in Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan remains the most attractive destination for investments in Central Asia, accumulating 61% of the total investment inflow to the region. The country has direct access to major markets, including the Eurasian Economic Union countries, Central Asia, shares a border with China, and through the Caspian Sea, with the countries of the Middle East," he said.
He emphasized that in recent times, more international companies are choosing Kazakhstan as a platform for opening production facilities in the manufacturing industry.
"KAZAKH INVEST is ready to provide a range of services to support the implementation of investment projects, including the selection of regions, establishing effective dialogue with relevant government bodies and organizations, as well as consultations on state support measures," concluded Kozhanov.
During the business forum, an announcement was made about the establishment of the Kazakhstan-Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will contribute to further strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries.
