International election observers in Moldova to hold press conference on Monday

CHISINAU, 26 November 2010 - The international observers monitoring the parliamentary elections in Moldova will present their preliminary post-election statement at a news conference on Monday, 29 November, in Chisinau.
The international observation is a common endeavour involving the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Parliament (EP).
The preliminary statement will be delivered by Tonino Picula who leads the short-term OSCE observer mission and heads the OSCE PA delegation, followed by Indrek Saar, Head of the PACE delegation, Monica Macovei, Head of the EP delegation, and Peter Eicher, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR long-term election observation mission.
This common endeavour comprises a total of 338 observers from 45 countries, including 40 long-term observers and staff from the OSCE/ODIHR, 219 short-term observers seconded by participating States upon request by the OSCE/ODIHR, 38 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA, 32 from the PACE, and 9 from the European Parliament.
Journalists are invited to attend the news conference on Monday, 29 November, at 14:00 at the Leogrand Hotel, Chisinau.
