European Commission proposes feasibility study for Kosovo (05.11.2008)

The European Commission published the 2008 Progress Report for Kosovo on 5 November 2008. The EC adopted its annual strategy paper for the EU’s enlargement policy, proposing to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate how Kosovo can best take advantage of regional and European integration. The Commission also proposed to intensify the regular policy and technical dialogue between Kosovo and the Commission.


Olli Rehn visits Kosovo (09.10.2008)

Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn visited Kosovo on 9 October. During his visit he met President Fatmir Sejdiu, Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and EUSR Pieter Feith.

My studies have been very valuable for me, a thing which I was able to show in my work, and also through helping my colleagues."


European Union supports Prizren’s religious heritage (22.09.2008)

On 15 September, the head of the European Commission Liaison Office, Renzo Daviddi, handed over the keys to two Serbian Orthodox buildings in Prizren to the Serbian Orthodox Church.


2000 pupils in new schoolsthanks to the EU

The European Commission has built four new schools in Kosovo with EU funds in 2008. The new school buildings in Podujevë/Podujevo, Gjakova/Djakovica, Kamenica and Viti/Vitina will offer around 1900 pupils warmer, brighter and attractive classrooms and other facilities in line with European standards. Previously, pupils attended lessons in old and inadequate school premises.
