FFBH - Bulgaria Morning Update - Jan 23, 2008 Jan 23, 2008, 15:41 CET | Broker’s Report | SeeNews MARKET WRAP-UPThe market made the most significant step back in its history on Tuesday. The deep red moves in Asia early in the morning gave another reason for the sellers to go beyond what we usually call aggressive. Only 15 minutes were necessary for them to completely wipe out the bid side of Chimimport (CHIM, BGN 10.24, -12.63%), Central Cooperative Bank (CCB, BGN 7.18,- 6.63%) and Monbat (MONBAT, BGN 21.33, -11.01%). The session was even stopped for close to 40 minutes due to technical problems and after it resumed the sellers continued where they had left the job unfinished. However, later during the day, buyers saw some great opportunities and very fast restored the balance between supply and demand, not too far from the previous closings. At the end SOFIX closed at 1384.29, losing only 0.55% and BG40 scored a "minor" 0.93% down move to 395.32 bps. Among the double figure losers were M+S Hydraulics (MCH, BGN 9.00, -20.07%), Euroins Insurance (EURINS, BGN 10.50, -17.00% ), Toplivo (TOPL, BGN 20.67, -15.49%) and Fazerles (FZLES, BGN180.76, -14.69%). http://seenews.com/news/latestnews/ffbh-bulgariamorningupdate-jan23_2008-154000

FIMA Stock Monitor - Daily - Jan 22, 2008 Jan 23, 2008, 09:34 CET | Broker’s Report | SeeNews Daily comment:Another volatile and exciting day is behind us. The popular benchmark, CROBEX, closed downy by 2,1%. During the session it was down as much as 5,7% at 4351,21 points, but also reached a positive territory before midsession. The turnover was quit high at HRK 195,4 million. Fed`s 0,75% cut in interest rate had almost no impact on domestic market, while European markets restored opening losses and closed in black after FED`s announcement. Domestic economic releases also were not positive as industrial production data showed December 2007 / December 2006 rise of 1,4%, a slowdown from 2,5% growth in November 2007. When looking at historical turnovers in bearish days, one can notice that the majority of falls were made on low turnovers, and this situation was explained as dumb money coming out and smart money coming in. In today`s case this could be applied when explaining high HT (HT-RA) turnover, due to the high retail stake acquired in recent IPO, while other stock s need different explanation. As we mentioned, integrated telecom HT was the top liquid issue, collecting HRK 28 million in turnover. Stabilization on dry bulk market, with BDI`s rise of 0,8%, after a period of decline, did not help domestic shipping companies to stay immune on global movements. Dubrovnik based Atlantska plovidba (ATPL-R-A) fell by 0,7%, Uljanik plovidba (ULPL-R-A) remained unchanged and Jadroplov (ULPL-R-A) closed 2,3% down. Food and agricultural company Podravka (PODR-R-A), was the only millionaire that managed to close in black. http://seenews.com/news/latestnews/fimastockmonitor-daily-jan22_2008-092916

Raiffeisen Capital & Investment - Investment Daily Romania - Jan 23, 2008 Jan 23, 2008, 15:33 CET | Broker’s Report | SeeNews Trader’s CommentAfter the dramatic fallsof the European markets of Monday and the consistent losses of the Asian stock markets, the local stock exchange plunged at Tuesday opening, BET dropping 7.6% and BET-FI 6.8%. The banks saw the largest depreciations at the start of trading, both BRD and TLV hitting the lows of the day at RON 18.8 and RON 0.67 per share respectively, down 10.5% and 9.1% against the closing of Monday. After the wave of panic receded, the market succeeded to recover half of the losses reported at opening. The comeback was generated by some large buy orders at the low price levels. The local exchange seems for the moment strongly correlated with the international markets, and we expect todays opening to follow the trend on the US and Asian stock exchanges. In the newsFondiaria interested in taking over Asiban insurerAccording to media reports, Fondiaria-SAI, Italy’s second-largest insurer, is interested in taking over Asiban, one of the largest players on th e Romanian insurance market, which was put up for sale in the second half of 2007 by its four shareholders: BCR, BRD-SocGen (BRD), The Romanian Savings Bank (CEC) and Banca Transilvania (TLV), each with a 25% stake. The media also mentioned Groupama (France), Uniqa (Austria), AXA (France), Generali (Italy), Aegon (Holland), Eureko (Holland) and Munich Re (Germany) as possible buyers. Asiban shareholders previously said they expect the sale to be completed in the next few months. We expect the deal to be closed this year and our conservative estimation is that both BRD-GSG and Banca Transilvania will report one-off net gains of RON 75 mn from the sale of Asiban.Flamingo repurchases 5 mn sharesIn a release to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), Flamingo International (FLA) announced that it has acquired 5 mn of its own shares or 0.65% of its share capital in a deal transaction.
