STS Finance - Daily FX Analysis - Feb 6, 2008 Feb 06, 2008, 10:13 CET | Broker’s Report | SeeNews The euro sunk against the dollar, as а result of weak service data – 6 th February, 2008The dollar marked its biggest growth against the European currency for the last two months. This was a result from the Eurozone services PMI data, which fell to unexpected level at 50.6.The American currency may advance against the euro for a second straight day on speculation the European Central Bank might lower interest rates this year as the economy shows signs of weakness. The euros weakness against the dollar helped lift the greenback across the board despite the weak US service sector data. The weak ISM non-manufacturing data reinforced fears the economy is slowing even as the Federal Reserve cuts rates aggressively to revive growth. These data’s managed to sunk the US stock market, but it didn’t succeed to do the same with the currency market. The dollar index, a measure of the US currency’s value against a basket of six currencies, was up 1.1 percent at 77.436., which is its biggest daily percentage advance since December.Traders will continue to focus on the ECB policy decision on Thursday – in which the central bank is expected leave rates unchanged at 4.0%.The Australian dollar fell against the major currencies, in despite of hiked interest rates by 25 basis points to 7.00%The sterling rose against the most of the majors but it couldn’t manage to hold the dollar rally.Today from the economic calendar we are expecting the news fromCanada, about building permits and IVEY PMI index. From USA we are looking for the non-farm productivity report. In the end of the day the focus will be on New Zealand unemployment rate. link

FIMA Stock Monitor - Daily - Feb 5, 2008 Feb 06, 2008, 09:01 CET | Broker’s Report | SeeNews Daily comment:Bearish sentiment combined with low stock turnover nosedived popular benchmark by 2,3%. Share of heavy construction and power trunk producer Dalekovod (DLKV-R-A) declined by 1,8%. Strong order book, with this year`s order book inflow totaling to HRK 4,5 – 5 billion, gives the market capitalization/order book inflow of 0,7. Furthermore, together with its partners, Dalekovod formed a SPB Sportski grad involved in construction of sports hall in Split. This project is worth some EUR 140 million (HRK 1 billion). Another upside for Dalekovod comes from the fact that it owns 15 daughter companies, with 100% stake in majority of them, and despite that, does not publish consolidated financial statements. Thus, we see some HRK 250 – 300 million consolidation upside on the sales side. Preferred share of tobacco and tourism company Adris (ADRS-R-A) decreased additional 2,2%. Adris share started to decline after newly formed Croatian government announced that new law pro hibiting smoking in all public areas will be introduced. Adris is speculated to move into new business – with the cash on the balance sheet and the low debt to equity the company has possibility to invest into other targets. The company announced that it is interested to tender for the government stake in the national insurance company Croatia osiguranje (CROS-R-A). However, there was no news from the Government lately on the privatization issue. Even though BDI continues to rise, share of Pula based shipping company Uljanik plovidba (ULPL-R-A) plummeted 4,1% to HRK 3.080. Taking into account that company diversified its activities on dry bulk and tanker segment mainly on long-term contracts base, the Co won’t feel consequences due to the recent BDI slump. On the other side, it will profit from expected recovery on dry bulk market when negotiations among Chinese steel makers and main iron ore producers finish. Another Co’s advantage is that operates modern fleet curren tly consisted of six vessels with average oldness of 2.5 years, ma g it more competitive for expensive commodities transport. link

Most of the shares, which recovered some of the losses with the announcement, returned to the lows of the day and even went lower.
