Aiutiamo i prigionieri politici in Bielorussia
Comunicato urgente da Charter ’97
Carissimi,
Iniziamo l’anno nuovo mobilitandoci per venire in aiuto ai prigionieri politici in Bielorussia.
Questo a seguito di accese manifestazioni organizzate da associazioni e Ong bielorusse per contestare l’esito delle recenti elezioni che hanno confermato per l’ennesima volta Lukashenko alla carica della repubblica ex-sovietica.
Appena qualche minuto fa ho ricevuto una richiesta urgente di aiuto da parte di Charter ’97.

Our support to prisoners of the KGB jail will determine whether these courageous people would be able to go through all hardships and humiliating treatment by the dictatorship.
Political prisoners have a right to receive postcards, and everyone can support the people fighting for freedom of Belarus at least by a word of encouragement.
We remind that more than 20 persons are kept in the remand prison of the KGB (State Security Committee) in Minsk, including 6 presidential candidates. accusation has been presented against them, and the next two month before trial they are to stay behind the bars.

17. Uladzimir Kobets – a campaign manager of A. Sannikov (says in the KGB detention centre for less than 3 days, measure of restraint not chosen for him yet)
18. Dmitry Uss – a presidential candidate (under a written undertaking not to leave the place)

20. Aleh Korban – one of the leaders of the UCP youth organistion, “Young Democrats”
