The 2007 top line was negatively impacted by 3Q 07 results, when Oltchim had to cease some of its activities due to an accident at the plant. On the costs side, raw material costs increased by 9% yoy to RON 1 bn (EUR 303 mn), while personnel expenses climbed 18% yoy to RON 129 mn (EUR 38.7 mn). Third party expenses shrunk 3% yoy to RON 162.8 mn (EUR 48.9 mn). Oltchim reported a financial loss of RON 97.7 mn (EUR 29.3 mn) vs. RON 10.6 mn (EUR 2.8 mn) on the back of higher interest expen ses and the depreciation of the local currency.
