On the morning of April 3, Odessa was attacked from the air, as reported by the press service of the Operational Command South. Some of the enemy missiles were shot down by Air Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, there are no casualties as a result of the morning rocket attack on Odessa. Fires have been reported in some parts of the city.

This was announced by the officer of the operational command “South” Vladislav Nazarov. All services are working on the consequences of the airstrikes.

"Among the priority targets of the enemy was the Odessa region. The enemy continued his dastardly practice of hitting critical infrastructure. We remind you of the inadmissibility of publishing the results of the defeat, disclosure of data, geolocations and the spread of panic."

Vladislav Nazarov

It is worth noting that the Russians fired sea-launched cruise missiles on Odessa and Nikolaev regions. Ukrainian air defense shot down two enemy cruise missiles.

Andrey Klimenko, head of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies, said that the following ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet could have fired:

* missile cruiser “Moskva” or missile boat “Naberezhnye Chelny” from the area of the northern line between Tarkhankut and Snake Island.

* missile frigates “Admiral Essen”, “Admiral Makarov”, missile corvettes “Vyshny Volochek”, “Ingushetia” from the sea area between Sevastopol and Evpatoria.

The Mayor of Odessa visited the place hit by the Russian attack.

"I went to the place and made sure that all services are working as quickly as possible and without panic, heroically fighting the consequences of an enemy attack. Many thanks to our defenders – the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the police, the State Emergency Service. Today Odessa is united like never before!"

Gennady Trukhanov, Mayor of Odessa
