Then came the news related with bank sector and the picture on the market changed as the investors pulled the indexes back to their opening prices. Retail sales on Friday and Saturday combined rose 7.2 % to 16.4 billion dollars from the same period a year ago. That helped investors to reduce their concerns about consumer spending, which accounts for two-thirds of all economic activity. Meanwhile, banks’ problems seem to continue as the sector showed more signs of having been hurt by credit market problems. Citigroup Inc. announced that it intended to cut costs and raised the possibility of further job cuts. In same time HSBC Holdings PLC said it plans to bail out two funds it manages. The Europe’s largest bank plans to move about 45 billion dollars of the fund's assets onto its balance sheet. The New York Fed, which carries out monetary policy set by the U.S. Federal Reserve, said it would inject 8 billion dollars to the banking system on Wednesday to add liquidity. Additional concerns came and from the highest energy prices which made investors nervous about the possible reduction of the consumer’s spending during the holidays. In corporative news, Citigroup fell 2.5 %, to 30.92 dollars per share, while Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. fell 2.7 %, to 59.20 dollars per share. Garmin Ltd. jumped 7.3 %, to 98.54 dollars per share after a Deutsche Bank analyst said the company's navigation gadgets were a popular buy in early holiday shopping. Apple Inc. also rose, advancing 2.10 dollars to 173.64 dollars per share. Boeing Co., which is one of the 30 stocks that comprise the Dow industrials, rose 2.3 %, to 91.64 dollars per share after an analyst upgraded shares of the airplane maker citing long-term gains driven by growth in air travel worldwide. http://seenews.com/news/latestnews/stsfinance-usastockmarketsdailyreview-nov27_2007-135511 Bulgarian Stock Exchange Indices End Mixed Nov 27, 2007, 18:02 CET | Story | SeeNews SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian stock exchange indices ended mixed in low volumes on Tuesday as the market continued to test support levels after its recent slump, brokers said. http://seenews.com/news/latestnews/bulgarianstockexchangeindicesendmixed-172618 Bulgaria Schedule of Events - Nov 27 - Jan 2 Nov 27, 2007, 09:07 CET | Story | SeeNews SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 27 (SeeNews) - Following is a schedule of corporate, economic and political events taking place in, or related to, Bulgaria through January 2.
