Romania launches WiMAX licence tender

Romanian regulator ANRCTI has rolled out the procedure of granting the licenses for the frequency bands enabling the implementation of the WiMAX broadband wireless access (BWA) systems. ANRCTI’s president has already appointed the commission that will analyze the submitted offers of licences for the 3600-3657 MHz and 3700-3757 MHz frequency bands. The draft terms of reference will be published for consultation on 29 September, with the final version to be available for purchase around mid-October. The license winner is expected to be announced by year-end.
