The first tour of Ukrainian presidential elections showed predictable results: first Yanukovich with 35% of votes, second Timoshenko with almost 25%.
Many times, Yanukovich stated he is sure about the victory in the second tour.
This is absolutely normal: the candidate has to show self-confidence to convince people he is the right person to govern Ukraine, and he has built his image on the concept of "Silna Ruka" ("strong hand" in Ukrainian).
Other aspect of Yanukovich´s behaviour are starting scaring me: after the result of first tour of the elections, the Party of Regions (pro Yanukovich) organized permanent demonstrations, meetings and stands all around the building of the Central Commision for the Elections.
I pass through these stands every morning when I go to work, and I see people sitting inside those cold little stalls, showing threatening faces (most of the are paid to stay there and they all come from Donezk or Kharkov region).
Although Oecd stated that the first tour of the election was regular and democratic, I am afraid to say that besieging of the Electoral Commision is not one of the most fair way to win the run; how can we have neutral behaviours from the members of the Commission, if outside of the door thousands of people are "controlling" them?
