Magisters Helps the Vorzel Orphanage Recover from Fire
Magisters international law firm has repaired an orphanage cafeteria destroyed in a fire. The CSR Committee at Magisters began urgent fundraising internally and launched an awareness campaign after a fire destroyed the cafeteria at the Vorzel Orphanage in the Kyiv oblast, leaving the children without kitchen facilities. None of the children were injured, but the cafeteria staff were forced to use the cooking facilities at a neighboring sanatorium. The City Council for Health Protection mandated the completion of all repairs by May 18 or the children would be evacuated to Kyiv-area hospitals and orphanages. Magisters raised enough money to repair the cafeteria within 38 days. Along with Magisters, 16 other supporters, both corporate and individual, aided in recovery efforts, including Volvo Trucks, UGMK and the Woman’s Auto Club. The orphanage administration worked diligently on weekends and after hours to ensure the timely completion of the project.
