Edinstvennaya Magazine, Japanese Embassy Aid Orphanage
The Edinstvennaya Magazine Charitable Foundation has finished renovating the laundry room in an orphanage in the village of Krasnii Khutor in the Chernihivska oblast with support from the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. The embassy’s aid program, Kusanone, awarded a grant of about USD 70 thsd to fund the project. Due to the economic situation in Ukraine, the cost of the project was higher than expected and the Edinstvennaya Magazine Charitable Foundation also made a financial contribution in order to complete the project. The project was also supported by the Chernihiv Oblast Administration’s Department of Education and Science.
Mary Kay, Women’s Health and Family Planning to Announce Contest Winners
On May 15, Mary Kay and the Women’s Health and Family Planning Charitable Foundation will host an award ceremony for their joint national media competition, Life Goes On, aimed at raising public awareness on breast cancer by providing information about healthy living, early detection, treatment options and assistance programs through print media. British American Tobacco Holds 3rd Annual Ecological Initiative
On April 11, British American Tobacco held its Third Annual Ecological Initiative, EcoKrok, in Ichnyansky National Natural Park in Chernihiv oblast to clean the park and plant trees. Within three years, the company has planted about 71 thsd pine tree seeds and about 3 thsd birch seeds. Within this initiative, the company also constructed resting places for park visitors, in addition to providing equipment and information materials for their environmental education center at the park. EcoKrok is one of a number of cooperation projects between BAT and Ichnyansky National Natural Park.
