Three of them (Atlantska plovidba, Losinjska plovidba, and Jadrolinija) even recorded losses in Q1. The main reason is in a drop in dry bulk fees.Slovenian analyst Petar Jencic (MP Invest) says that the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) explains around 30 percent of results of the companies in the sector. After being at an average of 1,561 points in the first three months of the year, these days it broke the 3,000-point limit, for the first time since October last year. Jencic therefore expects better results of the shipping companies, as well as an increase in their stock prices. In the past ten days at the Zagreb Stock Exchange, Atlantska plovidba’s stocks soared 17 percent, with an 8.51-percent growth on Wednesday alone. Tankerska plovidba jumped 30 percent in ten days, 8.95 percent on Wednesday. In the past ten days, Losinjska plovidba gained 59 percent, Jadroplov 60 percent, Uljanik plovidba 59 percent.
