Ban sends Kosovo documents to ICJ

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday sent the UN Kosovo dossier to the International Court of Justice, ICJ. He forwarded some 2,900 pages of documents that contain all resolutions, constitutional frameworks and UNMIK rules, quarterly reports filed by UN envoy Kai Eide, the Ahtisaari plan, the presidential troika report, documents related to Ramboullet and Kumanovo agreements, KFOR reports, the Kosovo Albanian declaration of independence, and other papers, according to Albanian language daily Express.

NBS chief says VAT hike possible

National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Radovan Jelašić said on Friday that VAT might be raised from the current 18 pct. If the economic measures taken by the government do not produce the expected results, agreement has already been reached with the International Monetary Fund to impose 10 and 15 percent taxes on public sector salaries above RSD 40,000 and 100,000 and to hike VAT to 19 pct.
