In the period January – September 2008, the Current and Capital account deficit was EUR 5,145.9 mn (15.1% of GDP), against a deficit of EUR 3,761.9 mn (13% of GDP) for the same period in 2007.As of end-August 2008 gross external debt was EUR 33,611.1 mn (98.8% of GDP) and increased by EUR 4,756.9 mn (16.5%) against the end of 2007 (EUR 28,854.3 mn, 99.8% of GDP).In the Q3 the GDP growth was 5.6%. Consumer price inflation slowed insignificantly to 10.9% y/y in October from 10.95% y/y in September, according to data of the statistical institute.
