FERROALLOYS ACCOUNTED FOR MAJOR PART OF GEORGIAN OF EXPORT TO THE US IN 2008

Georgian Statistics Department reports that Georgian export to the US amounted to $102.2 million in 2008, which is less by 31.4% compared with the year 2007. At that, ferroalloys accounted for 70% of export, amounting to $71.5 million (36.5% decline).

TBILISI INTERBANK CURRENCY EXCHANGE SUSPENDED OPERATIONS

Georgian Finance Ministry reports that four companies entered so-called “Golden List”. Receiving of applications for entering the list started from January 15 this year.

VTB BANK GEORGIA REDUCES INTEREST RATE ON SOME DEPOSITS

Director general of VTB Bank Georgia Nika Shurgaia announced that the bank decided yesterday to reduce from July 1 interest rates on some deposits, opened in lari. Namely, interest rate on 6-months fixed deposit will reduce from 12.5% to 12%, 12-months deposit – from 15% to 14.75%, 18-months – from 15.5% to 15%, 24-months – from 17% to 15.5%, over 24 months – from 18% to 16%.

VTB BANK GEORGIA ATTRACTED 1M LARI IN A MONTH THROUGH VTB UNIVERSAL CARD

As VTB Bank Georgia reports, 1 million lari has been already attracted through VTB Universal card, issued a month ago. The matter concerns cardholders’ account balance.

JSC TSKALI MARGEBELI TO EXPORT NABEGLAVI TO BELARUS IN A MONTH

JSC Tskali Margebeli (Healthy Water) plans to export mineral water Nabeglavi to Belarus in a month. As the company told Sarke, about 150,000 bottles will be delivered at first.

SALES OF LLC SHUMI HALVED COMPARED WITH 2008

As LLC Shumi (wine and alcoholic drinks company) told Sarke, company’s sales reduced by 50% if compared with the year 2008. The LLC explains the drop by problems with export on the background of global crisis (biggest part of company’s production is exported).

SALES OF LLC VAZI+ REDUCED BY 70% COMPARED WITH 2008

As wine and alcoholic drinks producer LLC Vazi+ told Sarke, company’s sales reduced by 70% compared with 2008. The LLC explains that drop by global crisis, which hampered export, accounting for 99% of company’s production.

LLC NABEGLAVI GOT LICENSE FOR SWEET WATER BOTTLING IN NABEGLAVI

Georgian Economic Development Ministry reports that LLC Nabeglavi became the owner of 10-year license on sweet water bottling on deposit in village Nabeglavi of Chokhatauri district (Guria region). The Ministry reports that the company will pay 11,000 lari in the license against of starting price of 10,000 lari.

Sakhelmtsipo Uzrunvelkopa (State Provision Agency of Georgia) told Sarke that 3 companies applied for the tender on realty insurance. The tender was held yesterday.

Buildings with land plots, located in Tbilisi (Tvalchrelidze 3rd Lane and Kindzmarauli Str. 5), were not sold at auctions, held yesterday by Georgian Economic Development Ministry.

Gamgeoba (local administration) of Gardabani (Kvemo Kartli region) told Sarke that LLC Sigma XXI and LLC Nova will implement water system rehabilitation works. These companies won yesterday the tender, which was divided in 2 lots.

LLC ASTORIA TO REHABILITATE WATER SYSTEM IN AKHALTSIKHE

Gamgeoba (local administration) of Akhaltsikhe (Samtskhe-Javakheti region) told Sarke that LLC Astoria will hold rehabilitation of water system in the district. This company has won the tender, which was applied by 6 other companies as well.
