GEORGIA TO GET $208M FROM ADB IN 2009
Georgia will get $208 million as aid from Asian Development Bank (ADB) in 2009. As press-service of the Georgian government informs, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri announced about it on the eve of his departure to Indonesia, where annual meeting of ADB board is held (May 2-5).
CREDITING OF LEGAL ENTITIES IN NATIONAL CURRENCY REDUCED BY 17.5% IN Q1, IN FOREIGN CURRENCY – BY 3.8%
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reports that by the state of March 31 credits of 560 million lari were issued to resident legal entities in the national currency (17.5% reduction compared with the beginning of the year). While volume of credits, issued in the foreign currency, made up 2.5 billion lari (3.8% reduction).
NBG BOUGHT MORE DOLLARS THAN SOLD IN MARCH
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that it bought by $2.67 million more than sold on Tbilisi Interbank Currency Exchange (TICEX) in March. Namely, NBG bought $60.16 million, while sold – $57.49 million.

PRIVATE PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS INCREASED BY 50.8%, NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS – BY 26% IN 2008
Financial Supervision Agency reports that contributions, made in terms of private pension insurance, amounted to 4.43 million lari in 2008, which is more by 50.8% compared with the year 2007. The mentioned sum is distributed between 4 insurance companies and pension scheme of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
SAKARTVELOS BANKI STARTED A NEW DRAWING ACTION AMONG DEPOSITORS
Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) announced launch of a new drawing action among the depositors from May 1. Those depositors can take part in the draw, who have deposited 500 lari (or more) for 3 months (or more).
SAKHALKHO BANKI TO SERVE 50 MILLION LARI OF TREASURE RECOURSE
Georgian Finance Ministry announced today that Sakhalkho Banki (People’s Bank) will serve 50 million lari of the Treasury’s finance resources. This sum will be transferred to the bank’s current (settlement) account.

WISSOL PETROLEUM GEORGIA REFUSES FROM GAS FILLING STATIONS IN FAVOR OF COMBINED ONES
Vasil Khorava, director general of JSC Wissol Petroleum Georgia (oil-products importer and retailer), told Sarke that it is planned to invest 8-10 million lari in expanding of filling station chain in 2009. While, Khorava announced plans on investing 20-25 million lari at the beginning of the year.

MAGTI EXPECTS FOR PROLONGING OF GSM-1800 LICENSE
Mobile communications operator Magti reported that its GSM-1800 license will be expired on May 12. By this date, the company expects for decision of National Communications Commission, application to which was submitted, according to the law, a month ago.

JSC Gomi Spirit and Vodka Company is going to start production of new name of vodka, Gomi Prestige, in 2-3 months. The company plans to invest $150,000 for that end.

AVERSI TO SERVE GEORGIAN ORTHODOX PRIESTS FREE OF CHARGE
Pharmaceutical company Aversi announced that it signed today a memorandum with the Georgian Orthodox Patriarchate, according to which nuns and priests will be provided free service in Aversi clinics. Free service will apply to those people, who will have the recommendations of the Patriarchate.
