BORDERS OF TBILISI AND MTSKHETA REGISTRATION ZONES CHANGED

National Agency of the Public Register of the Ministry of Justice announces that it has changed the borders of the registration zones of Tbilisi and Mtskheta. Namely, the whole territory of Digomi (including village Digomi) is included in the registration zone of Tbilisi.

CONTRACTOR BANKS FOR “CHEAP LOAN” PROGRAM TO BE SELECTED THROUGH TENDER

Lasha Zhvania, Georgian Minister for Economic Development, announced that one or two service banks for the state “Cheap Loan” program would be selected through the tender. The tender is planned to be announced in the end of April or at the beginning of May.

TAX GUIDEBOOK WILL BE AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AND GEORGIAN

Presentation of tax guidebook, created In terms of the EU-funded project “Provision of Tax Administration Reform”, took place today. English version of the guidebook is published on the web site (georgia.gov.ge), created for investors.

GEORGIA ASKS TURKEY TO RECONSIDER THE WINE QUOTA

Georgian Economic Development Ministry announces that Georgia asks Turkish side to reconsider the highest quota of wine, which can be demanded by the importer while getting the import license. Besides, Turkish side was asked to submit more detail information about mechanism of quotas’ distribution.

NATIONAL AGENCY OF PUBLIC REGISTER TO HOLD REGISTRATION OF LEGAL ENTITIES

According to draft amendments to the law “On State Register”, National Agency of Public Register will hold registration of enterprises and non-commercial legal entities. The amendments apply registration of foreign enterprises’ branches as well.

TELAVI TO HOST INTERNATIONAL WINE CONGRESS

Georgian Agriculture Ministry announces that Telavi (Kakheti, main wine-producing region of Georgia) holds preparation for the International Wine Congress, which will be held in 2010 in Georgia. As the Ministry notes, it is planned to plant 400 varieties of vine out of 525 Georgian original ones on 5 ha at the adjacent territory of Telavi, which should become the basis for creation of the unique collection.

LLC USIP-GEORGIA IS GOING TO INCREASE NUMBER OF PARTNER BANKS

Paata Apridonidze, financial manager of LLC United System of Instant Payments – Georgia (USIP-Georgia), told Sarke that LLC plans to increase number of partner banks current year. TBC Bank and Sakhalkho Banki (People’s Bank) are united in the system at this stage.

SAKARTVELOS BANKI TO OPEN SERVICE-CENTER IN HIGH-MOUNTAIN DISTRICT OF AJARA

Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) reports that on February 27, a service center will be opened in the high-mountain district of Ajara – Keda (Abuseridze Str. 13).

LLC INFOTEL AND JSC UNITED TELECOM AGREED ON INTERCONNECTION TERMS

Georgian Communications Commission reports that dispute over interconnection tariff between LLC Infotel and JSC United Telecom has been settled. The companies are going to sign new agreement in two weeks.

COMMON PROPERTY OF JSC SAKTRACTOR AND JSC TRACTOR IS AUCTIONED AT A REDUCED PRICED

Bankruptcy manager of JSC Saktractor (Georgian Tractor) announced auction on the common property of JSC Saktractor and JSC Tractor afresh. Now, the property is reduced in price – 3.26 million lari.

Gamgeoba (local administration) of Chiatura announced a tender on overhaul of the roads. The tender includes three lots.

THE STATE TO FINANCE MA COURSES ABROAD

Georgian Education and Science Ministry reports that MA courses abroad will be financed by the Ministry through grants. The Minister of Education and Science Nika Gvaramia told journalists that 3.5 million lari is envisaged for that end.
