IMF ALLOTTED NEXT TRANCHE TO GEORGIA
International Monetary Fund (IMF) allotted the next tranche to Georgia, amounting to $186.6 million, announced Edward Gardner, a new permanent representative of the IMF, at today’s press conference. Decision about issuing of the tranche was made by the Directors’ Board of the Fund yesterday.
EU ISSUED FIRST TRANCHE FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORMS IN GEORGIA
Delegation of the European Commission reported that EU has allotted the first tranche for criminal justice reforms on March 23. The volume of the tranche makes up 5 million EUR.
FINANCE MINISTER INITIATES ESTABLISHMENT OF BUSINESS-FORUM
Georgian Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili announced today initiative on establishment of the business-forum at the meeting with business associations. It is planned to hold the first working meeting on April 15, where special chart will be signed.
GEORGIAN EXPORT TO HUNGARY MADE UP ONLY $103,300, WHILE IMPORT – $34.6M
Georgian Statistics Department reports that Georgian export to Hungary made up $103,300 in 2008, which is 1.7 times more compared with the rates of 2007. Almost whole export (96.9%) compounded of two groups – drugs and batteries.
ONLY 5 COMMODITY GROUPS WERE EXPORTED TO ESTONIA IN 2008
Georgian Statistics Department reports that Georgian export to Estonia made up $970,000 in 2008, which is less by 32% compared with the rates of 2007. At that, only 5 commodity groups were exported to Estonia.

LARGEST INVESTMENTS WERE MADE IN 5 COMPANIES IN 2008
Georgian Economic Development Ministry reports that 5 companies lead according to the volume of investments, made last year. These companies are Poti Sea Port Corporation, LLC Tbilisis Tskali (Tbilisi Water), LLC Black Sea Terminal, LLC Socar Energy Georgia and LLC Magticom.
DETAILS OF “100 NEW RURAL ENTERPRISES” PROGRAM ARE NOT SPECIFIED
Georgian Agriculture Ministry reports that 12 projects are carried out in terms of the state program “100 New Rural Enterprises”, started last year. The Ministry does not name other details (results of auctions, exact projects).
JSC ENERGOPRO GEORGIA STARTED INDIVIDUAL METERS INSTALLATION IN 6 TOWNS OF WESTERN GEORGIA
JSC EnergoPro Georgia reports that it has started preparation works in terms of individual meters installation program in 6 towns of western Georgia – Kharagauli, Khoni, Tkibuli and Vani (Imereti region) and Ambrolauri and Oni (Racha region). It is planned to install nearly 15,000 meters in these towns.
GEORGIAN RAILWAY IS GOING TO BUY FERROCONCRETE SLEEPERS
LLC Georgian Railway announced a tender on ferroconcrete sleepers’ acquisition. Envelopes with tender applications will be opened on April 10.
AUCTION ON LLC TBOUMEURNEOBA PROPERTY FAILED
As LLC Tboumeurneoba (Heat Farming) told Sarke, auction on LLC’s immovable property, which had to be held yesterday, failed because of applications absence. The property was auctioned in 10 lots, its total starting price made up
6.16 million lari.
TWO COMPANIES TO REPAIR KHASHURI ROADS
As gamgeoba (local administration) of Khashuri told Sarke, two companies will implement rehabilitation works of Khashuri roads. Only the mentioned companies (LLC Mtkvari and LLC Khashurigza) took part in the tender, announced by gamgeoba.
