OIL-PRODUCTS PRODUCERS, IMPORTERS AND CONSUMERS UNION CALLS POLITICAL FORCES FOR CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE

Oil-Products Producers, Importers and Consumers Union addressed political forces of Georgia with a special statement today, calling them for a constructive dialogue. The Union stresses that tense political situation has a negative influence on development of country’s economy.

EXPOGEORGIA HOSTS CONSTRUCTION AND INTERIOR EXHIBITION IN REDUCED SCALES

The 14th international exhibition for the building and interiors industry CaucasusBuild has been opened in Tbilisi exhibition center ExpoGeorgia today. As ExpoGeorgia’s manager Maka Goroziani has told Sarke, exhibition scale is by 20% decreased compared with last year.

LLC GEORGIAN RAILWAY MAY CUT STAFF BEHIND REDUCED CARGO TRAFFIC

Irakli Ezugbaia, LLC Georgian Railway director general, said today that reduction of cargo traffic behind current political situation in the country may lead to cut stuff of the LLC. According to Ezugbaia, the company may appear unable to meet orders, and will be forced to dismiss part of employees.

FIVE GEORGIAN COMPANIES PARTICIPATE IN FOOD EXHIBITION IN POLAND

International exhibition of food industry IFE Poland 2009 has been opened in Warsaw today. As Agriculture Ministry has told Sarke, five Georgian companies take part in the exhibition: Georgian Glass & Mineral Waters (Borjomi mineral water producer), Ushba (alcoholic drinks company), Tiflis Marani (wine producing company), Kula (children food center in Gori), Elkana (bio-farming association).

GWP STARTED WATER ARREARS RESTRUCTURING

Georgian Water and Power (GWP, Tbilisi company of water supply and sewerage) announced that it has launched large-scale one-time program on restructuring of arrears, collected by its clients. GWP will write off 20% of arrears to those clients, who will apply to the company through June 30, while the rest sum will be restructured for 3 years.

GEOCELL FINISHED REBRANDING

According to mobile communication company Geocell, rebranding process has been finished. The process, being launched a year ago, cost the company $2 million.

DUGLADZE WINE COMPANY TO SUSPEND PRODUCTION

Manana Akhvlediani, marketing manager of Dugladze Wine Company, told Sarke that the company plans to suspend its production. She said that the reason is global financial crisis, which sharply reduced sales of the export-oriented company.

INTRODUCTION OF NEW SYSTEM OF PARKING FEE COLLECTION DELAYED SINE DIE

As LLC CT Park has told Sarke, introduction of new system of parking fee collection in Tbilisi, planned for early April, has been delayed for an indefinite terms. The company explains the mentioned by political situation in the country.

LLC ARTI PROPERTY IS AUCTIONED AFRESH

Large Taxpayers’ Inspection of Georgian Finance Ministry’s Incomes Service brought the sealed property of LLC Arti to auction afresh. The starting price of the property, located in Tbilisi (20th km of Agmashenebeli Avenue), was not changed since the first auction – 13.2 million lari.
