The Georgian Parliament considers draft bill “On State Statistics” in accelerated pace. The document aims to make the Statistics Department independent, while now it is subordinated to the Economic Development Ministry.

NUTS AND WINES ACCOUNTED FOR THE LARGEST SHARE OF GEORGIA’S EXPORT TO POLAND
Georgian Statistics Department reports that Georgian export to Poland accounted to $4.9 million in 2008, which is less by 22.1% compared with the year 2007. Out of which, nuts and wines accounted for the greatest share (75%).
NUTS ACCOUNTED FOR LARGEST SHARE OF GEORGIA’S EXPORT TO CZECH REPUBLIC IN 2008
Georgian Statistics Department reports that Georgian export to Czech Republic amounted to $4.3 million, which is less by 28.8% compared with 2007. Nuts accounted for the largest share of export – 81%.
GEORGIAN WINE MAY BE SOLD IN BLACK SEA HOTEL CHAINS
Georgian Agriculture Ministry reports that Georgian wine may be sold in Black Sea hotel chain. Negotiations on the subject were held today in Antalya (Turkey), in the frameworks of presentation of the Georgian wines.
WORKS ON GENERAL PLAN OF LAND USE IN TBILISI ARE OVER
Works on the general plan of land use in Tbilisi are finished, told Sarke head of Tbilisi Architecture (architecture service of the City Hall) Mikheil Avaliani. The document will be first discussed by the zonal board, then (in the nearest future) it will be submitted to Sakrebulo (city council) for approval.

GG&MW BECAME THE OWNER OF BORJOMI LICENSE
Georgian Glass & Mineral Waters Co. (GG&MW) became the owner of license for Borjomi mineral water bottling, which was auctioned by Georgian Economic Development Ministry today. This company was the only participant of the auction.
IN 2 YEARS, PRODUCTION OF GG&MW SHOULD REACH PRE-EMBARGO VOLUME
Zaza Kikvadze, director general of Georgian Glass & Mineral Waters Co. (GG&MW), said that the company plans to reach the volume of export, which existed before the Russian embargo, in 2 years. To remind, the company produced 174 million bottles in 2005, and only 98 million bottles – in 2006.
