DAVID KERESELIDZE IS APPOINTED THE HEAD OF STATE OFFICE

Press service of Georgian State Office announces that David Kereselidze is appointed the head of the State Office (chancellery of the government). The corresponding order was signed today.

MONETARY POLICY RATE DECREASED

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) announced that rate of monetary policy (refinancing rate) was decreased from 8% to 7%. This decision was made by the Monetary Policy Committee today.

NUMBER OF ATMS INCREASED BY 56.6% IN A YEAR

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reports that, by the state of January 31, 2009, number of ATMs made up 1,353 units. This figure exceeds by 56.6% the showing of January 31, 2008.

10 COMPANIES TO TAKE PART IN THE STATE-INITIATED INSURANCE PROGRAM

As it became known today, 10 companies will take part in the insurance program, initiated by the state. They are Aldagi BCI, GPI Holding, Imedi-L, Sakhalkho Dazgveva (People’s Insurance), Irao, Archimedes Global Georgia, West, Partner, Tao and IC Group.

Georgian Economic Development Ministry started today accepting applications for auction for Borjomi bottling license. The auction will be held on March 20, at 12:00 o’clock.

Georgian Communications Commission announces that only VTEL Georgia applied to the auction on license for numeration resource use in Batumi. The term of getting applications expired yesterday.

AUCTION ON 3473.0-3480.0 MHZ AND 3573.0-3580.0 MHZ BAND USE MAY BE ANNOUNCED AFRESH

Georgian Communications Commission announced that auction on 3473.0-3480.0 MHz and 3573.0-3580.0 MHz band use will be announced afresh in case of the interest. The Commission decided yesterday to withdraw license on the mentioned resource from LLC Black Sea Telecom.

BLACK&VEATCH SPECIAL PROJECTS CORP. TO ASSESS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF BLACK SEA HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION LINE CONSTRUCTION

Georgian Energy Ministry announced that Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. has won the tender, announced for assessment of environmental impact of Black Sea high voltage transmission line construction project. Through this line, Georgia will connect its energy system with Turkish one.

TELASI TO REHABILITATE ELECTRIC GRID IN HISTORICAL AREA OF TBILISI

JSC TELASI announced that rehabilitation of the electricity network starts in the historical area of Tbilisi – Abanotubani (Baths’ District), which will be probably finished in a month. The company is going to allot 77,200 lari for the project.

FINANCE MINISTRY ANNOUNCED TENDER ON CARS’ INSURANCE

Georgian Finance Ministry announced an international tender on insurance of cars, owned by the Ministry and all its subordinating institutions. The matter concerns 280 cars.

PROPERTY OF JSC SAAMO IS AUCTIONED

Georgian Finance Ministry reported that Kutaisi regional center of Finance Service announced auction on the seized property of JSC Saamo. Total staring price of the property makes up 995,600 lari.

NEW MEMBER OF JSC LIBERTY CONSUMER’S SUPERVISORY BOARD APPROVED

JSC Liberty Consumer announced that Avtandil Namicheishvili was approved as a member of the supervisory board. Instead, Ivane Barbakadze has left the composition of the board.

COMPANY IBS BECAME THE BUSINESS PARTNER OF 1C-BETRIX

IBS announced that it became the business partner of Russian 1C-Betrix. As a result, the company said, it will start offering web-solutions along with the software products.
