NBG VICE-PRESIDENT: OFFICIAL EXCHANGE RATE WILL BE FIXED BASED ON RESULTS OF DEALS ON INTERBANK CURRENCY MARKET ONLY
According to David Amaglobeli, vice-president of National Bank of Georgia (NBG), in future, official exchange rate will be fixed only according to results of deals on interbank currency market (i.e. currency auctions). Presently the rate is fixed in accordance with trades, conducted on Tbilisi Interbank Currency Exchange.
TENDER ON BANK SELECTION FOR “CHEAP CREDIT” PROGRAM SERVICING TO BE ANNOUNCED BY LATE MAY
Selection of bank (or micro-financial organization), which will be partner in terms of “Cheap Credit” state program, became duty of Economic Development Ministry. The mentioned decision was adopted on the government meeting of May 12.
STATE BUDGET TO ALLOT 406,500 LARI FOR SUPPORT OF LOCAL WATER DISTRIBUTERS
The state will allot 406,500 lari, aiming support of local water distribution companies. The sum should be used for paying fee of energy, consumed in March.

MCG APPROVED NEXT AGRO-PROJECTS
According to the Millennium Challenge Georgia fund (MCG), the next 11 grant applications have been approved in terms of agribusiness development program. Total cost of the projects makes up $500,000.

IC Group (VTB Bank Georgia’s daughter company) acquired JSC Sakhalkho Dazgveva (Peoples Insurance). The agreement with Sakhalkho Banki (Peoples’ Bank, owner of Sakhalkho Dazgveva) was signed today.
UNITED TELECOM TO INCREASE CLIENTS’ NUMBER IN IMERETI
JSC United Telecom reported on additional works, planned to start in Kutaisi (main city of Imereti region) in order to increase number of subscribers of CDMA wireless phone. Works will be started in summer.
