ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY TO BE ADDED TWO DEPARTMENTS
Lasha Zhvania, Georgian Economic Development Minister announces that two new departments will be added to the structure of the Ministry in the nearest future – in order to promote monitoring and export. The mentioned issue was discussed at today’s government meeting.

NBG SOLD $1.21B ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE DURING 2008
As National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reports, it sold $1.35 billion on Tbilisi Interbank Stock Exchange in 2008, which 4.6 times exceeds the same figures of 2007 ($257.4 million).
NBG acquired $821.75 million instead of $918.17 million in 2007.
PASSENGERS’ TRAFFIC INCREASED BY 17% IN THE AIRPORT
United Transport Administration reports that 803,488 passengers were transferred through Georgian airport in 2008, which is more by 17% compared with the year 2007.
Out of which, 714,859 passengers (nearly 89% of total volume) were transferred through Tbilisi International Airport, which is more by 16% compared with the previous year.
9M LARI TO BE SPENT ON RIVER BANKS PROTECTION WORKS
Georgian Environment Protection and Natural Resources Ministry reports that 9 million lari is allotted from the state budget for implementation of the river banks protection works on the whole territory of Georgia. Works will be implemented on 22 objects.

AGREEMENT WITH INTERRAO ON JOINT MANAGEMENT OF ENGURHES TO BE SIGNED IN FEBRUARY
Agreement between Georgian Energy Ministry and InterRAO on joint management of EngurHES (Enguri hydroelectric station) will probably be signed in February, announced Georgian Energy Minister Aleko Khetaguri at today’s briefing. Terms are being agreed at this stage, he noted.
1.5M LARI WAS INVESTED IN BATCEMENT ENTERPRISE IN AJARA
Ajara government announces that 1.5 million lari was invested in Batcement enterprise located in Khelvachauri district. LLC Bakuri is the investor.
LLC BAZI DELAYED PRODUCTION OF SAUSAGES
Because of the financial crisis, LLC Bazi delayed production of sausages for an uncertain period, told Sarke the company. The company planned to launch the new line in November 2008.

LLC Sakhelmtsipo Uzrunvelkopa (State Provision) reports that the sixth auction, held these days on 344,396 square m land plot located in Tbilisi (Tvalchrelidze Str. 2), failed because of applications absence.
LLC BATUMI TENNIS CLUB IS SOLD AT A REDUCED PRICE
Property of LLC Batumi Tennis Club (hotel, courts and café-bar) is sold at the fourth auction. The object is sold at a reduced price this time – 6.3 million lari.
AGROINVESTBANK PROPERTY WAS NOT SOLD AGAIN
The next auction is announced on Agroinvestbank property, which is under liquidation.
As the auction commission informs, the property is priced at $2 million (including VAT) this time.
LLC MAXTEL ACQUIRED ONE MORE NUMERATION RESOURCE LICENSE
As Georgian Communications Commission announces, LLC Maxtel became the owner of 193XXX-197XXX numeration resource license. The matter concerns 5,000 numbers.
TWO COMPANIES ARE INTERESTED WITH NUMERATION RESOURCES IN TBILISI
Georgian Communications Commission reports that LLC Akhali Kselebi and LLC Wanex will take part in the auction on 13XXXX numeration resource license.
Starting price of 10,000 numbers is envisaged by 20,000 lari.
MANGANESE LICENSE WAS NOT SOLD IN MARTVILI
Georgian Economic Development Ministry informs that auction held these days on manganese license in the village Nakhunao, Martvili district (Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region) failed because of applications absence.
Starting price of 20-year license made up 600,000 lari.
THREE NON-LIVING AREAS WERE NOT SOLD IN BATUMI
Ajara Finance and Economy Ministry reports that auction on three non-living areas in the building located in Batumi (Gamsakhurdia Str. 21-23) failed.
TBILISI CITY HALL ANNOUNCED TENDER ON TAKING CARE OF METECHI TUNNEL
Tbilisi City Hall announced a tender on taking care of the Metechi tunnel, which belongs to the Beautification City Service. Tender applications should be submitted to the City Hall through January 29.
