Lasha Zhvania, Georgian Economic Development Minister, declared that, along with tourism development, privatization and enterprises management are very important, as well as working at free trade agreements with Europe and US. Zhvania has said it today at the governemnt meeting, while presented plan of the Ministry for the year 2009.

Georgian Economic Development Ministry reports that Tourism and Resorts Department has a new head – Petre Kankava. Petre Kankava was born in 1977.

400-500 PERSONS APPLY DAILY FOR CHEAP INSURANCE PROGRAM

Georgian Labor, Health and Social Welfare Minister Alexander Kvitashvili reported that 400-450 persons apply daily for cheap insurance program. The Minister announced about it at the government meeting today.

MINISTRY OF REGIONAL MANAGEMENT TO SELECT BANKS, WHICH WILL PARTICIPATE IN “CHEAP LOAN” PROGRAM

Regional Management Ministry will select banks, which will take part in “Cheap Loan’ program, Georgian Economic Development Minister, Lasha Zhvania announced. He told journalists after the government meeting today that issuing of credits will be the competence of the bank, while Economic Development Ministry will hold monitoring of this process.

RECENT SELLING OF VTB BANK GEORGIA’S SHARES WAS CLOSED TODAY

Georgian Stock Exchange reported that OTC deal (i.e. fixing) on VTB Bank Georgia’s shares was held today. 6.17 million shares were sold in total (7.1% of issued shares) for 8.45 million lari.

HALYK BANK GEORGIA TO ISSUE CREDIT CARD BY THE END OF MARCH

As Halyk Bank Georgia told Sarke, it is going to issue first credit card by the end of March. Issuing of mortgage and consumer loans will also start from the end of the current year.

BANK REPUBLIC OFFERS ITS CLIENTS ONLY ONE CREDIT CARD

Bank Republic offers its clients only one credit card – Dream Card, through which 5,000 lari can be received during 2 years without any security. Interest-free period is envisaged by 55 days.

JSC WISSOL PETROLEUM GEORGIA OFFERS MOBILE NUMBER COUPONS TO OWNERS OF DISCOUNT CARDS

JSC Wissol Petroleum Georgia announced that from today and through April 30 it will offer mobile number coupons to holders of discount cards (Pirveli Barati – The First Card). In terms of the action, all holders of Pirveli Barati will get coupons for “golden number” of Geocell mobile communications operator per each 20 l of any type of fuel, purchased on the company’s filling station.

JSC KOLKHURI ABRESHUMI IS AGAIN AUCTIONED AT 1.5M LARI

Bankruptcy manager of JSC Kolkhuri Abreshumi (Kolkhida Silk) brought property of JSC on auction again. Starting price of the property is not changed, making up 1.5 million lari.
