- Innovation as a key to EU’s global relevance
30 June 2010 - 14:30 - 16:40 - Sala Ludwikowska, Polonia Palace Hotel
Al. Jerozolimskie 45, Warsaw
There is a feeling that the leaders in Europe do not have the luxury to look at the long term. I think this is unfortunate. Never does there seem to be a time to step back from immediate problems and look at things from a long-term perspective. As a result, it is always in the short term that Europe is under the pressure to act. (Ziga Turk, Euractiv, 22 June 2010)
Ziga Turk, Diogo Vasconcelos and Patricia Reilly, chief contributors to the European innovation policy, will discuss the place for Europe in the global geography of innovation during the conference "Innovation as a key to EU’s global relevance" on June 30th in Warsaw. Special focus will be put on possible outcomes of the European Innovation Plan, due to be unveiled in September. Turning gaps into niches. For a new innovation paradigm in Central Europe, a new report prepared by demosEUROPA - Centre for European Strategy and Ernst&Young "Better Government" Programme, will also be presented on this occasion.
