Osce: OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Italian Finance Police and Italian Embassy organize seminar on fighting fraud

PODGORICA, 1 July, 2009 - An OSCE-supported four-day seminar on how to combat financial, economic, VAT and tax fraud ends tomorrow in Becici, Budva.

The event, organized by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, the Italian Finance Police and the Italian Embassy in Montenegro, aimed to help the Montenegrin Police Service develop its capacity to investigate and combat organized crime.

Journalists are invited to attend the closing ceremony, which starts at 13.15 on Thursday 2 July, at Hotel Tara, Becici.

Officials from the Italian Finance Police will make presentations. Closing addresses will be made by Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu, Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro; Sergio Barbanti, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Montenegro; Gen. Renato Maria Russo, Head of II Dept. Guardia di Finanza Headquarters, and Veselin Veljovic, Director of the Montenegrin Police Directorate.
