In recent years the significance of nuclear energy in Russia’s foreign policy has been demonstrably on the rise. This is because, besides being a tool with which to diversify Russia’s exports offer, nuclear energy is also becoming an instrument for strengthening Russia’s international position and realizing its interests in selected areas. Yet the scale of Russia’s involvement in the global nuclear energy market has been limited by the potential of its engineering industry.
