Extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council in rememberance of the victims of the Polish plane crash

Today at 1600 hrs, there will be an extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council to express its condolences to Poland and its people for the tragic events of last Saturday.

On this occasion, the Secretary General, the Dean of the Council, the Chairman of the Military Committee and the Polish Ambassador will address the Council. In addition, a 1-minute silence will be observed.

This meeting will be open to the visual media and will be streamed live on the NATO website (http://www.nato.int/cps/en/natolive/events_57552.htm). It will be available on demand from EBU Geneva. Members of the press are invited to come to the NATO Press Office counter at the latest at 1530 hrs.
