PUBLIC DEBATE
Europe between America and China
12 May 2011 - Collegium Novum, Jagiellonian University Gołębia Str. 24, Krakow
demosEUROPA - Centre for European Strategy together with the Unia&Polska Foundation, Chatham House, European Studies Centre of the University of Oxford and the Villa Decius Association would like to remind you about a lecture by Rt. Hon. David Miliband, UK Secretary of Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in 2007-2010, currently Member of Parliament for South Shields.
The economic crisis has fostered a transition to a new global balance of power. (Re)emerging powers moved closer to the developed countires and the dominating economic philosophy of the latter has fallen under severe pressure. In this new situation, US-China cooperation has intensified, while Europe, with its internal divisions, is often left aside.
How should Europe build its role in the global political and economic architecture? How to strengthen transatlantic ties? What is the role for Europe in the global order?
This event will open the fourth edition of the annual Polish-British Round Table.
