Lech Wałęsa tells the story of his life including all the important, historic events he participated in, revealing many new facts and contesting rumors. December 1970 in Gdańsk, the creation of Solidarity, martial law, underground activities, the Nobel Peace Prize, meetings with John Paul II, the Round Table, the Presidency, being defeated in reelections, activities towards maintenance of world peace - even this does not form a complete list of all of his written memories. Revealed for the first time will be events such as secret negotiations with Boris Yelsin and the assassination attempt on Lech Wałęsa’s life. The author presents his stance on accusations of cooperation with the SB.

We are presented also with views and opinions of such people as: Danuta Wałęsa, Bronisław Geremek (a previously unpublished text from May 2008), Tadeusz Mazowiecki, primate card. Józef Glemp and card.
