PRISHTINE/PRISTINA, 5 July 2010 - The Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Werner Almhofer, condemned a firearm attack in northern Mitrovica/Mitrovicë today that injured Petar Miletic, a member of the Assembly of Kosovo and secretary general of the Independent Liberal Party.

"This attack represents an additional cause for concern about the security situation in northern Mitrovica/Mitrovice following the violent incident on 2 July that resulted in the tragic death of one person and in many injuries," Almhofer said. "We call on the responsible agencies to investigate this incident and to bring the perpetrators to justice."

"We wish Petar Miletic a fast recovery and quick return to his daily business in representing the interests of his constituency."
