Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants of the ninth plenary session of the Russian-Chinese Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development.

The message reads, in part:

“The friendly contacts between the Russian and Chinese public make an important contribution to the development of strategic partnership, the deepening of traditions of good neighbourly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the peoples of our countries. Your committee, which is helping strengthen our close cooperation and create such a valuable atmosphere of trust through its initiatives and active work, plays a special role in this process.

The current session takes place on the year of the 10th anniversary of the Russian-Chinese Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation. Over the years, the committee has effectively promoted the practical implementation of this document, which is so fundamental to our bilateral relations.

I am certain that the resolutions of this session will also promote the further expansion of the social basis of Russian-Chinese relations, opening new prospects in the development of humanitarian and business cooperation between our nations.”
