The official voice of the delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia
On the eve of the traditional Europe Week, marked in Croatia for the tenth straight year, and whose programme you can find out in this issue of the EUbulletin, we present in the May issue an overview of the most recent events relating to Croatia and the EU, with special emphasis on the closing of the “Free Movement of Goods” chapter at the last Intergovernmental Conference, resulting in Croatia successfully closing more than 50% of its chapters. Also included are Commissioner Fule’s messages from his interview, as well an overview of activities on informing Croatian citizens of issues relating to EU funds in which the Delegation is actively engaged. This year, one Croatian town was again amongst the finalists of the European Mobility Week Award. In news from the EU, we detail measures for consumer protection, the effects of the Cohesion Policy and the Commission’s reaction on the suspension of air traffic. Furthermore, we invite you to visit the southernmost island country in the Mediterranean Sea – Cyprus, a member of the EU since 2004. We also invite you to actively participate in Europe Week activities, which will take place in numerous towns and counties across Croatia!
