On 7 December 2010, the European Union and the Republic of Armenia held the second round of the EU-Armenia dialogue on Human Rights. The second EU-Armenia human rights dialogue was held in an open, frank and constructive atmosphere, with an exchange on a wide range of issues of mutual interest and concern. As a follow-up to the last year’s Human Rights Dialogue, the Armenian delegation informed about the human rights
situation in Armenia, in particular regarding the national human rights legislation and its enforcement, the functioning of the judicial system, the freedom of association and assembly, the freedom of expression and the media, elections and electoral framework, the freedom of thought and religion, the rights of prisoners, including fight against torture and
cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and the cooperation between Armenia and EU in international fora, particularly within the United Nations, OSCE, and Council of Europe for the promotion of human rights.
