Ambassador Kourkoulas handed over the 2008 Progress Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina to Chairman Špirić (05.11.2008)

H.E. Ambassador Dimitris Kourkoulas handed over 2008 Progress Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted by the European Commission today, to BH Council of Ministers Chairman, Mr. Nikola Špirić. At the press conference, Ambassador Kourkoulas presented key findings of the Report pointing at both main positive and negative developments. Overall conclusion is that some progress has been made in addressing political criteria during the first half of 2008, but that lack of consensus on the main features of state building, frequent challenges to the Dayton/Paris peace agreement and inflammatory rhetoric have adversely affected the functioning of institutions, and continued to slow down reforms and putting at risk the achievements made so far.

NJ.E. ambasador Dimitris Kourkoulas predao je predsjedavajućem Vijeća ministara BiH, gospodinu Nikoli Špiriću Izvještaj o napretku Bosne i Hercegovine za 2008. godinu, koji je danas usvojila Evropska komisija. Na konferenciji za novinare ambasador Kourkoulas je predstavio ključne rezultate Izvještaja naglašavajući kako pozitivne tako i negativne rezultate. Opći zaključak je da je postignut djelimičan napredak kada je riječ o političkim kriterijima u prvoj polovini 2008. godine, ali da su nedostatak konsenzusa u vezi sa glavnim karakteristikama jačanja države, stalni izazovi Dejtonskog/pariškog mirovnog sporazuma i zapaljiva retorika nepovoljno uticali na funkcionisanje institucija, nastavili da usporavaju reforme i time izlozili opasnosti do sada ostvareni napredak.

Completion of the EU-funded project "Support to BiH Veterinary Office marked in Sarajevo (06.11.2008)

Final conference of the EU-funded project "Support to the State Veterinary Office (SVO) in BiH" was held in Sarajevo on Wednesday, 05 November, 2008. Mr. Ferdinand Kopp, Head of Section for public administration reform issues of the Delegation of the European Commission to BiH, Mr. Matthias Heinz, representative of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH, Mr. Darko Čobanov, BiH Veterinary Office Deputy Director, Mr. Eberhard Haunhorst, representative of German Consumer Protection Office, Mr. Hamdo Tinjak, Secretary of BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and Mr. Sanin Tankovic, Secretary of BiH Veterinary Office presented at the press conference achievements of this Twinning project implemented in cooperation between BiH Veterinary Office and German Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

U Sarajevu obilježen završetak EU projekta „Podrška Uredu za veterinarstvo u BiH“ (06.11.2008)

Završna koferencija projekta „Podrška Uredu za veterinarstvo (SVO) u BiH“, kojeg je finansirala Evropska unija, održana je u srijedu, 5. novembra 2008. u Sarajevu. Gospodin Ferdinand Kopp, šef Odjela za reformu javne uprave Delegacije Evropske komisije u BiH, gospodin Matthias Heinz, predstavnik ambasade Savezne Republike Njemačke u BiH, gospodin Darko Čobanov, zamjenik direktora Ureda za veterinarstvo BiH, gospodin Eberhard Haunhorst, predstavnik njemačkog Ureda za zaštitu potrošača, gospodin Hamdo Tinjak, sekretar Ministarstva za vanjsku trgovinu i ekonomske odnose BiH i gospodin Sanin Tanković, sekretar Ureda za veterinarstvo BiH prezentirali su na konferenciji za medije dostignuća ovog Twinning projekta implementiranog kroz saradnju Ureda za veterinarstvo BiH i njemačkog Ministarstva za hranu, poljoprivredu i zaštitu potrošača.

Ambassador Dimitris Kourkoulas, Head of European Commission Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomes the BiH Presidency’s approval for ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European Union (06.11.2008)

"The ratification of the SAA by the BiH Presidency gives a clear signal to all citizens of this country that their future lies in the European Union.
