Gas Coordination Group: Solidarity works and the EU’s gas market adapts to challenges of gas crisis (20.01.2009)

The mitigation measures undertaken by EU companies and Member States have allowed most countries to successfully manage the situation in a way which is the least disruptive for their consumers. Bulgaria remains the worst affected country but some measures have been proposed to bring gas from Greece to Bulgaria.

Mjere ublažavanja poduzete od strane europskih kompanija i zemalja članica omogućile su većini zemalja uspješno upravljanje situacijom na način koji u najmanjoj mjeri pogađa njihove korisnike. Bugarska je i dalje najviše pogođena zemlja, no predložene su određene mjere za dostavljanje plina iz Grčke u tu zemlju.

Statement of President Barroso and Technical update on Gas Flows (21.01.2009)

Today we can – finally – welcome the resumption of gas supplies to Europe. The Russian side opened the valves this morning and the Ukrainian side has allowed the gas to flow. Our monitors on the ground report that gas is flowing normally, pressure is building up in the system and gas is crossing the Ukrainian border into Slovakia. So we can now tell our citizens: the gas is finally on its way.

Danas konačno možemo pozdraviti nastavak isporuke plina Evropi. Ruska je strana jutros otvorila ventile, a ukrajinska dopustila protok plina. Naši posmatrači na terenu izvijestili su da plin teče normalno, u sistemu se stvara pritisak, i plin prelazi granicu Ukrajine sa Slovačkom. Možemo reći građanima da plin konačno stiže.
