DemosEuropa: invitation to a conference "After the European Elections"

After the European Elections - New challenges under the Lisbon Treaty

demosEUROPA - Centre for European Strategy, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the Independent International and European Law Institute as well as the Kozminski University Law School, jointly invite to a conference "After the European Elections. New challenges under the Lisbon Treaty", which will take place on 9 June 2009 in Kozminski University Law School , Jagiellonska Street No. 57/59, Warsaw.

The speakers include Polish and German MEPs, the representatives of Bundestag and the Senate as well as Polish and German experts. The first panel will deal with an overview of the elections results and the relationship between national parliaments and the European Parliament. The second will analyse the role of the European Parliament as envisaged by the Lisbon Treaty and the challenges of the transition period. The introductory speech for this part would be addressed by Minister Mikołaj Dowgielewicz, Secretary of State at Poland’s Office of the Committee for European Integration.

The debate will be held in Polish and German with simultaneous translation.
