A charge was brought against the officers of the OVD of the village of Khebda of the Shamil district of Dagestan Magomed Magomedov, Gamzat Nurudinov, Shamil Magomedov and Aliaskhab Nuruchinov that on July 20, 2010 had beaten up 14-year-old Makhmud Akhmedov. They are charged of a crime as stipulated by article 286 part 2 (exceeding the authority) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

On November 26, 2010 Makhmud identified all four police officers in the Public prosecutor’s office of the Soviet district of Makhachkala. Investigative actions on the scene of the accident were carried out earlier, the injured and witnesses were questioned. On December 14, the results of the examination of the boy’s clothes will be ready, the parties will be allowed to look through the materials of the criminal case. The injured are represented by the lawyers working under the agreement with Human rights center Memorial - Bakanai Guseynova and Aziz Kurbanov.
