FIMA Stock Monitor - Daily - Dec 3, 2007 Dec 04, 2007, 10:58 CET | Broker’s Report | SeeNews Daily comment:The beginning of the week brought the extension of investor’s passivity.Only HRK 38,8 million was realized in equity turnover on the Zagreb Stock Exchange today. Most of it was realized with oil and gas company Ina (INA-R-A) and integrated telecom HT (HT-R-A). Those stocks collected turnovers of HRK 5,2 million and HRK 5,1 million, respectively. The popular benchmark fell by 0,3% to 4641 points with afore mentioned Ina as the lagging mover. Its price fell by 1,6% to HRK 2449,99 amid concerns on possible pressures on the ask side as retail investors executed their right to acquire one Ina share for free for each 10 Ina shares that remained in their ownership for a period of one year. The number of shares that were acquired on this way is estimated at 66.000, apropos market value of those totals to some HRK 158 million. Shipping sector was on the gaining side today. Both bulk and product carriers rose as freight rates on both of those markets continued it growth . The Baltic Dry Index, an overall measure of the cost of transporting commodities, climbed for a fourth consecutive trading session. It is at 10,270 points giving the reason to believe in strong Q4 for dry bulk shipping companies. Dubrovnik based Atlantska plovidba (ATPL-R-A) rose by 2% and Jadroplov (JDPL-RA) added 0,43%. Shipping rates for wet cargo have “strengthened phenomenally” in recent weeks also. This can be described with its cyclical nature as the start of heating season brings increased demand for oil and oil products. Zadar based tanker owner, Tankerska plovidba (TNPL-R-A) rose by 2,43% today, adding to its one week growth of 3,05%.
